Equine Sports Massage
Liz practices the Jack Meagher Method of equine sports massage, originally developed by Jack Meagher himself. This approach uses targeted techniques to release muscle tension, improve range of motion, and identify areas of strength or weakness. It can even increase your horse’s stride length.
Equine massage also benefits the nervous system by reducing pain, enhancing mobility, preventing injuries, and supporting proprioception.
Common issues massage can help with include:
- Hind leg stiffness
- Shoulder stiffness
- Limited neck stretch
- Short, choppy gaits
- Gastrointestinal problems
- Lyme disease discomfort
Before each session, Liz does a quick assessment—often by watching your horse walk—to pinpoint spots that need attention. Massage can be beneficial for both horse and rider. Because each compensates for physical weaknesses in different ways, treating both helps you move together in harmony.
Treatment cost $75
